Current Needs

The Onslow Women’s Center, Onslow County’s domestic violence shelter, is also in need of a little help. They are requesting assistance obtaining baby wipes and diapers (sizes 3 and 4). The Second Sunday Food Collections
continue to be an important SUMC mission effort. Once again we need
nutritious food donations, easy to open, light & small enough to fit
in the children’s backpacks. Some examples are cereal bowl or box,
crackers with peanut butter or cheese, instant oatmeal or grits, small
peanut butter or jelly, canned tuna/chicken, applesauce, fruit cups,
granola bars, juice boxes, raisins, canned-microwaveable beans and
wieners, mac and cheese, beef ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, cheesy
macaroni and franks. “Manna” is also seeking volunteers for our
increasingly busy mission work. Call Susan Del Grande (910.326.3316) or

Old jewelry and bead donations needed by Creekside UMW Circle/Nettie Merritt to benefit Haiti. We are in need of many items for crafts. Buttons...we need lots of assorted buttons...small, large, odd shapes, all colors, new or old...any old or broken beaded jewelry...leave them in the button/jewelry box by the office door. We also need volunteers/crafters to help make bracelets and jewelry items. We meet every Monday at 10:00 am at the Barnum House (by our lower parking lot). If you like to sew, we will be sewing dresses for little girls and shorts for little boys in Haiti, at the same time and place. We are also collecting games and educational items, DVDs and tapes that can be used in Haiti to help the kids learn English..leave in the Haiti Kids box by the office. We are collecting back packs and school supplies for local school donations. FALL in with us and make a place in your life for God’s missions. There is something for everyone to do!
