Current Needs

Sunday School Teachers Needed We need a regular teacher for every Sunday and an assistant on the even months for the high school class. (So, two teachers are needed for this class.) There is also a need for an assistant in the middle school class every Sunday. Again, 2 or more could rotate as assistants every other month.

Nursery Volunteers Needed! Please contact Beth Lenthall or Susan Fulp if you can volunteer.

Altar Flower Sign-up forms - complete, print, and submit the sign-up form to request flowers for the Sanctuary (8:30 & 11:00 a.m. services.) Flower dates are first come, first serve -- please check with the office to verify that a date is still open when you’re ready to sign up.

UMCOR provides a way for you to donate to the areas recently hit by disasters. Use Advance #901670, Disaster Response, United States. Click here to reach their online donation page.
Several church members are helping with storm damage in neighboring counties in our conference. If interested in helping please call Marcie Briley, 910.326.5379.
Ushers are needed for the 11 am service. Please contact Weston Hurst at 910.325.7117 to have your name added to the list.
The Second Sunday Food Collections continue to be an important SUMC mission effort. The staff at the school shares its appreciation for our faithful mission effort and reminds us that, when children are well-fed, they’re happier, healthier and better students. These collections are coordinated by Manna, the hunger awareness activities of our Church and Society committee. “Manna” is also seeking volunteers for our increasingly busy mission work. Call Susan Del Grande (910.326.3316) or Jim Brewster (910.478.9727). Please see the Church and Society page for current collection needs.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with the many activities and missions in our church. If you would like to help, please let us know by calling the church office at 910.326.4822 or contacting any of the members involved in the area in which you are interested. Not sure what might interest you? Here's a Serving Survey that may help. Just complete it and drop it off at the church or mail it to SUMC, 665 West Corbett Ave., Swansboro, NC 28584. There is also a place on the Online Church Directory to indicate your participation and/or interest in church organizational activities.
