Congregations for Children is collecting school supplies for Silverdale Elementary students, K - 5th grade again this year! Please drop off any donated items in the white baskets at church (each narthex and by the church office door) anytime July 14 until August 14. Supply List

Friday, July 12, 6:00 p.m. ~ ASP Stockholders Appreciation Dinner in the Assembly Hall, Bldg 3. Following our successful ASP youth mission trip in West Virginia and would like to show our appreciation to all those who supported our mission through the stockholder effort by serving you all dinner and showing you slides of the work we performed. We would also like to invite anyone who is interested in learning more about the wonderful work that our church youth are doing with ASP. Please RSVP to the church office by 10 July so that we can properly plan for the number of attendees.

Adult VBS is also happening July 15-18! Come study The Book of Ecclesiastes with Harold Fulp in Room 25, Bldg 1 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, July 17, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. ~ SAM (Senior Adult Ministries) luncheon and program. Local teens present information about bullying and suicide in music and words. Please make your reservation by July 10th by calling the office or online.

Wednesday, July 17, 6:30 p.m. ~ MEN OF THE CHURCH - our program and guest speaker at this month’s SUMM Meeting and Dinner is our Senior Pastor, Kevin Baker. Our meeting & dinner will be held in the American Legion building, just across the street from the Church lower parking lot. You may enter the driveway off of Hwy 24 and park on the grass. We are planning a special dinner and dessert. As always, all men of the Church are invited to attend.

Thursday, August 15, 9:00 a.m. ~ School supply sorting and delivery - all are welcome for a fun morning! Contact for directions to house.

Tuesday, September 10, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. ~ C4C Volunteer Kick-off meeting, orientation and sign-ups. Location: Rm 25, Bldg 1 (Library)

  • 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. - Mission Monday/UMW Craft Days ~ Rm 10 (lower level), Bldg 1. Whether you’re creative or not, you can get involved in several projects to benefit Haiti or local charities. Contact Lynn Rouse for more information.

    • 10:00 a.m. - Hand Made'ns Prayer Shawl Ministry - Crochet/knit shawls with love & prayers of healing September - March. Contact Sarah Austin (910.389.4660) or Jane True (910.325.6365). Location: Library - Rm 25, Bldg 1
    • 10:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Hope Mission trip to serve lunch to the homeless. Meet in Morehead City at 14th & Bridges. 3 volunteers needed each trip. Contact: the Charlotte Fields/Minnie Jones UMW Circle. SUMC also serves whenever there is a 5th Tuesday in the month.
  • Fourth Tuesdays
